In our second sermon in our journey with Jesus through Lent we find the denials of Peter in the courtyard. Peter denies that he even know Jesus and even gets angry about it.
Peter said, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you.” But Jesus said, “Peter, let me tell you something. Before the rooster crows tomorrow morning, you will deny three times that you even know me.”
– Luke 22:33–34
When Peter realized what he did he breaks down and weeps. The best news for Peter was that Jesus forgave. The rooter crowd a second time. That crow showed Peter his sin. With great heartbreak and weeping Jesus heals him.
God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
– Matthew 5:4
