Jesus invites us to join him on his Lenten journey as he washes the disciples feet. John 12:12-20. In verse 12 says “When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you?” Jesus gives the example to love one another by doing the job reserved the lowest of servants, foot washing.

The only way we can do such a loving service to others is by the blood of Jesus. “Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.” Jesus cleanses us from our sin and empowers us with a new Identity to show love in in the most humble circumstance.

This empowerment comes free to us because Jesus shed his blood for me. His blood cleanses and empowers His people to love God sand one another.
