Grace Bestows Beautiful Confession –  What role does confession play in your life? Many people in the church are just fine without it. But what does God have to say? Psalm 51 is great expression of confession to our Father in heaven from King David. Because of God’s grace in our lives through Jesus Christ confession becomes a healing gift to us with great application.

Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

– Psalm 51:3-4

In life we can simply be content with our sin knowing God must forgive it. This is a common sinful tragedy amongst people. God’s grace pulls us out of this attitude and leads us to true and heartfelt confession our sin. A confession that takes us on a journey with God, bears witness, and leads us to fruitful service.

Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
