Today we cover the last of our Three Part series on the Second Article of the Apostles Creed based on Ephesians 5:5-21. It is God for us to know that Jesus is not only our Savior but the Lord of lives as well. The church Ephesus struggles with this too. Paul works hard to contrast their unfruitful works of darkness with the fruitful work that is good, right, true, and pleasing to the Lord (vs.9-11).
When Jesus is the Lord of our life we live in righteousness, innocence and blessedness. We sing in our salvation with great joy but live out the will of God to his glory for he is the Lord of our lives.
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.
