On Palm Sunday we look at the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The crowds gather around Jesus because he is just coming from Bethany where he raised Lazarus form the dead.
The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness.
– John 12:17
The raising of Lazarus not only connects to the resurrection of Jesus on Easter but also to your own resurrection in Jesus. We are invited to follow Jesus because of our own resurrection from the dead. We have a new life in Christ. We cry out “Lord save us!”, and he does.
So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”
– John 12:13
