Today we start the “Come follow Me” series though Lenten season. Each Sunday we will see Jesus from another point of views as He calls us to follow Him. Today we here about the baptism of Jesus and His 40 days of in the wilderness. He moves us from having the identity of old burnt up ashes to one who is well pleasing to the Lord.

And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

– Mark 1:10-11

Christ call us in to the wilderness of temptation but not first without empowering us with the gift of baptism. We are sent with the message of repent and believe the Good news. The Good news is certainly ours to deliver as quickly and as effectively as possible so that the Holy Spirit will work through it just as he has on you and so many others.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

– Mark 1:15
