Tonight we Journey with Jesus to see that he is declared innocent by Pilate for all to here. The Jewish leaders brought Jesus forward to Pilate to have him killed. To have him killed was the answer to all their problems. Perhaps things could get back to normal if the problem makes would be gone. Little did they know that they were the problem and really did need him to die but in their behalf. They did not want to kill Jesus themselves so they befriend a foe (Pilate) to have Him do it.

“‘Cursed be anyone who takes a bribe to shed innocent blood.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

– Deut. 27:25

Jesus takes us just the way we are. He takes our guilt on himself and makes us innocent. This is the way of Jesus. It is his cup to drink. He does it in love. We are so thankful that he sees us as innocent. We all know the kind of death he was to die and he did for us.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.
