Today we let Ecclesiastes 5:10-20 speak to us. Tucked away in verse 10 we are called by the author to rejoice even in our toil, toil that is done for the glory of our Lord. Toil that comes from seeking your own glory will always keep you wanting and searching for something more. When we focus on our own processions for our glory we keep from using other blessings for the glory of the Father.  Through the eyes of sin we are never satisfied. Through the eyes of faith we seek our Father’s will even if it brings us toil. And in that toil, we still have joy because of Christ bringing us unto himself, not only in the present, but eternally as well.

19Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God. 20For he will not much remember the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with joy in his heart. – Eccl. 5:19-20
