Al-Anon Family Groups

Thursdays at 10AM.  The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems.  For our group purpose there is but one authority: a loving God.

Bread Breakers

The Bread Breakers will be meeting to form groups for the next four months.  We gather in small groups, 8-10 and meet once a month for Christian fun and fellowship.  Sometimes we go to a restaurant, or it may be snacks on the beach or desert at home, every month is different.

If you’re looking to meet and mingle in a casual setting with others from Lakeside Lutheran, please join us.  We will meet in Meyer Hall from 4PM-5PM, followed by dinner at Old Salty Dog.  Please call Sharon Ladigoski for more information (or RSVP for dinner reservations) 941-460-6959 or email [email protected]

Stewardship

Matthew 3:14 – John would have prevented Jesus from saying , “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” John is right: what Jesus is doing makes no sense!  But this is the upside down, outlandish grace of God: the innocent Jesus takes our sinner’s place.  This is the greatest act of giving the world has ever known or will know: The Father gives His Son to die in the place of sinners.

Our stewardship kickoff for 2018 will start January 14th, when we will learn about the importance of good stewardship in our lives and distribute pledge cards.  Over the following two Sundays January 21st and 28th, you will be asked to return your pledges.  Also, on January 28th following the 11:00 AM service we will have a stewardship celebration luncheon.  There is a signup sheet in the Narthex so we can get a count of who will be coming.
