Today we look at the last Sunday of the church year through the eyes of Daniel and his vision in chapter seven. He talks of the fourth beast that seeks to replace Christ not only in our lives but this bunch of nasty wants to be in charge of our lives. The Good news is that God has defeated him by the resurrection of dead and or own eternal redemption from sin and guilt. As God holds court in verse ten we rejoice that we are not judged on works but on God’s grace. But our hearts go out for those that are outside of grace. We see that Christ is enthroned and all these beast of the world fall under the feet of God in defeat. But we will in victory every day as we anticipate the return of Christ living out our identity and mission.

I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. – Daniel 7:13-14
